Ardrossan

Ardrossan ward encompasses the coastal town of Ardrossan along with the neighbouring settlements of Saltcoats and Stevenston. This area is defined by its position on the Firth of Clyde, with a working harbour and ferry terminal providing a vital link to Arran. The landscape includes stretches of sandy beach and urban centres with residential and commercial districts, reflecting a mix of maritime industry and local services.

The ward contains the site of the former Ardeer explosives factory, a vast industrial complex whose history has significantly shaped the local environment and economy. Inland areas transition towards more open, green spaces. The railway line follows the coast, connecting the communities and emphasising the linear, seaside character of this part of North Ayrshire.
