East Dunbartonshire sits immediately north of Glasgow and extends from suburban river valleys to the lower slopes of the Campsie Fells. Principal towns include Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Lennoxtown and Lenzie. Milngavie marks the southern terminus of the West Highland Way and provides one of the main access points into the hills.
