Falkirk South ward encompasses residential suburbs to the south of Falkirk town centre, including Hallglen, Bantaskine, and much of the Camelon area. The ward is characterised by a mix of housing, from post-war schemes to more modern developments, set across rolling terrain. It is a primarily residential area with local shopping parades and community facilities serving its neighbourhoods. The land includes green spaces like the grounds of Callendar Park on its eastern fringe.
A significant feature is the physical separation created by the Glasgow to Edinburgh railway line and the M9 motorway, which define its boundaries. The Union Canal also passes through the ward, following a historic route. The area includes Falkirk Stadium, a major sports venue, and is adjacent to the historical Callendar House estate. Industrial and business units are located along the western edges, near the motorway junctions.
