Inverleith

Inverleith ward occupies a residential northern sector of Edinburgh, bordered by the Water of Leith to the west. The area is characterised by substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas and terraced housing, with significant green space provided by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. This scientific institution, founded in 1670, houses a vast living collection of plants within its extensive glasshouses and landscaped grounds.

The ward also contains Inverleith Park, offering sports fields, a pond, and panoramic views towards the city's historic skyline. The residential streets are primarily quiet and family-oriented, with local shopping concentrated on Comely Bank Avenue and Raeburn Place. The area maintains a direct connection to the city centre while functioning as a distinct, established neighbourhood.
