Irvine West

Irvine West ward encompasses the western residential neighbourhoods of the town of Irvine. The area is primarily composed of housing estates, including Bourtreehill and Broomlands, alongside local shopping parades and community facilities. The landscape is largely suburban, with the River Irvine forming a natural boundary to the south and east. This ward contains a significant portion of the town's population within its settled streets and green spaces.

The area includes the large Gailes Marsh local nature reserve, a coastal habitat of reedbeds and wetlands important for birdlife. Industrial and business parks are located near the A78, contributing to local employment. The ward's western edge meets the Firth of Clyde coastline, characterised by golf courses and the raised beach topography. Residential life here is supported by several primary schools, community centres, and sports pitches integrated within the neighbourhood layouts.
