Lerwick South

Lerwick South encompasses the southern neighbourhoods of Shetland's main town, extending from the historic waterfront into residential areas on rising ground. The ward includes the southern harbourfront with its modern ferry terminal, a key transport link for the archipelago. Housing here ranges from traditional stone buildings to newer developments, with local services and community facilities spread throughout.

The area is defined by its coastal outlook and proximity to the Clickimin Loch, an important archaeological site with a well-preserved Broch complex. Land rises towards the ward's southern boundary, offering views over the town and out to sea. The topography creates a mix of sheltered inlets and more exposed residential streets, characteristic of the island's environment.
