Link ward is situated in the northern part of the Malvern Hills district, encompassing a mix of residential and rural landscapes. The area includes the communities of Upper Welland and the eastern fringes of Malvern itself, characterised by housing estates and local amenities. The terrain gradually rises towards the west, offering views of the wider Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, though the ward itself lies primarily on the flatter ground of the Severn Plain.

A notable feature is the presence of the Link Common, a sizeable area of open grassland and woodland that provides recreational space. The ward is traversed by the A449 road, a major transport route connecting the area to Worcester and Ledbury. Agricultural land and smaller pockets of woodland, such as at Poolbrook, contribute to the semi-rural character, balancing residential development with green spaces.
