Nairn and Cawdor

Nairn and Cawdor ward is centred on the coastal town of Nairn, which lies on the southern shore of the Moray Firth. The area extends inland to encompass fertile farmland and the historic Cawdor estate, with its ancient woodland and castle. Cawdor Castle, famously linked to Shakespeare's *Macbeth*, remains a private home surrounded by gardens. Local agriculture is significant, with barley production for the whisky industry. The ward functions as a service centre for the surrounding rural communities.
