Nuttall & Tottington

Nuttall and Tottington sit in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, north of Bury town centre. The ward combines a compact town centre with residential streets and stretches of former millland where small brooks once powered weaving and spinning. Tottington’s shopping parade and civic buildings form a local hub for everyday needs, and traces of the former Bury–Holcombe Brook line can still be picked out on footpaths that cross the area. Housing ranges from terraced streets left over from the industrial period to later suburban developments on the edges of the ward.

Community activity is centred on the town: clubs, churches and a civic hall host events through the year, and a long-running summer carnival brings neighbouring neighbourhoods together. Regular bus services link Tottington with Bury and Bolton while quieter lanes and public footpaths lead out to surrounding open land.
