Bothwell and Uddingston

Bothwell and Uddingston is a ward in South Lanarkshire situated on the north bank of the River Clyde. The area encompasses the historic planned village of Bothwell and the larger town of Uddingston, which developed with the railway. The landscape includes residential suburbs, local retail centres, and green spaces along the river. It is well-connected by road and rail to Glasgow, lying just to the south-east of the city boundary.

The area is known for the historic Bothwell Castle, a substantial medieval ruin overlooking a bend in the Clyde. The ward contains several golf courses and sports clubs, alongside community facilities serving its suburban population. A notable local feature is the Uddingston-based Tunnock's factory, a long-established employer and producer of caramel wafer biscuits. The built environment ranges from older sandstone properties to more modern housing developments.
