Hamilton West and Earnock

Hamilton West and Earnlock is a residential ward situated on the western periphery of the town of Hamilton. The area is primarily composed of housing developments, ranging from post-war terraces to more modern estates. It includes the established neighbourhood of Earnock, characterised by its own local shopping parade and community facilities. The ward is bordered by open countryside and the Avon Water river to the west.

The landscape is marked by gentle slopes, with some streets offering views across the Clyde Valley. A notable local feature is the Earnock Conservation Area, which protects a network of historic woodland footpaths and the site of a former mill. The area is served by several primary schools and is in close proximity to the larger retail and transport links of Hamilton town centre.
