Holderness

Holderness ward encompasses the southeastern residential areas of Kingston upon Hull, primarily consisting of post-war housing estates built from the 1950s onwards. The layout is characterised by avenues of semi-detached and terraced homes, with significant green spaces like East Park and the expansive playing fields of the Ennerdale Leisure Centre. This area serves as a key residential zone for the city, featuring local shopping parades along Holderness Road to meet daily needs.

The ward is defined by major transport routes, including the A165 Holderness Road which forms a central artery, and the Hull to Withernsea railway line running along its eastern edge. A notable local feature is the historic East Park, which opened in 1887 and contains one of the last remaining free-to-enter animal compounds in the country. The area also includes the grounds of the former Hull Royal Infirmary on Anlaby Road, marking a transition in the city's landscape.
