Hollingbury

Hollingbury sits on the northern edge of Brighton and Hove at the fringe of the South Downs. The neighbourhood is largely residential, with a mix of council and privately owned homes arranged around local streets. Local amenities include primary schools, a community centre, convenience shops and regular bus services into the city, providing practical links rather than tourist attractions. Daily life here tends to revolve around local facilities, school runs and the green space that occupies the hill above the housing.

Hollingbury Park and Golf Course occupy the summit and are the area's defining open space. The park contains the earthwork ramparts of Hollingbury Camp, an Iron Age hillfort that is a scheduled ancient monument and visible as a circular bank on the hilltop. Playing fields, a playground and a network of paths make the park popular for walking, sport and dog‑walking. From the top there are clear views across Brighton and out to the coast on good days, and the open space hosts informal community activities throughout the year.
