About

Leven, Kennoway and Largo ward stretches along the northern shore of the Firth of Forth. The area includes the towns of Leven, Kennoway, and the settlements of Upper Largo and Lower Largo. The coastline features the broad, sandy expanse of Leven Beach, with views across the water to East Lothian. Inland, the landscape transitions to agricultural land and the residential areas of the towns, which are connected by a network of local roads.

The ward has historical connections to maritime trade and industry. Lower Largo is the recorded birthplace of Alexander Selkirk, the real-life inspiration for Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe; a statue commemorates him on the site of his cottage. The area's economy has traditionally been linked to the nearby Methil docks and various manufacturing roles, while also accommodating commuting residents. The River Leven flows through the ward, passing by the large Levenmouth leisure centre before reaching the sea.
