Loughton Roding

Loughton Rushing ward occupies the western edge of the town, bordering the River Roding which gives it its name. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of interwar semidetached homes and more modern housing developments. It contains several local shopping parades catering to daily needs and is served by Debden Park High School. The ward's western boundary is distinctly formed by the river and the adjacent Central line railway tracks.

Open space is provided by the Roding Valley Recreation Ground, which includes sports pitches and a leisure centre. A notable local feature is the Loughton Brook, a tributary that flows through parts of the ward before meeting the Roding. The area is wellconnected by road, with the nearby M11 motorway providing a key transport link, while Debden tube station sits just outside the ward's eastern boundary.
