Scholemoor

Scholemoor is a residential district situated to the southeast of Bradford city centre. The area is primarily characterised by post-war housing, including a significant number of terraced and semi-detached homes. It contains local amenities such as shops, schools, and community facilities centred around Scholemoor Lane. The district is bordered by the larger suburbs of Lidget Green and Tyersal, with the Leeds and Bradford Road forming a key transport route along its northern edge.

A defining feature of the landscape is the presence of Scholemoor Cemetery, a large Victorian burial ground that occupies a substantial portion of the area. The cemetery's mature trees and open spaces provide a distinct green expanse amidst the urban surroundings. To the south, the land rises towards the open fields of Scholemoor, which historically marked the boundary of the city's development before merging with the countryside.
