Strathmore

Strathmore ward encompasses a large rural expanse in the eastern part of Perth and Kinross. The landscape is characterised by rich agricultural land, primarily supporting arable farming. Settlements are generally small and dispersed, with villages like Alyth and Meigle serving as local hubs. The topography gently rises from the fertile strath towards the southern foothills of the Grampian Mountains.

A notable feature is the presence of several important Pictish carved stones, housed locally in Meigle. Economic activity is strongly linked to the land, including farming and forestry. The area is traversed by the A94 road, connecting it to larger centres like Perth and Forfar in Angus. This is a working landscape with a deep historical lineage.
