Tranby

Tranby ward is situated in the western part of the East Riding of Yorkshire, primarily encompassing the village of Anlaby along with the smaller settlements of Anlaby Common and parts of Kirk Ella. The area is characterised by residential development, with housing ranging from historic properties to modern estates, set within a generally low-lying landscape. It functions largely as a commuter area for the nearby city of Hull, with local services centred along its main roads.

The ward is bordered by the A164 to the west and features the tranquil setting of the Humber Estuary to the south. A notable local feature is the Anlaby War Memorial, situated within a small garden on the main street. The area maintains several green spaces and playing fields, providing recreational areas for residents amidst its suburban character.
