Atlantic

Atlantic ward encompasses the northernmost tip of Northern Ireland, stretching from the coastal village of Portballintrae eastward to the seaside town of Ballycastle. The area is defined by its dramatic coastline, which includes the geological formation of the Giant's Causeway and the sweeping views from the headlands at Benbane and Bengore. Rathlin Island lies just offshore, accessible by ferry, with its distinctive lighthouses and seabird colonies.

The landscape is a mix of rugged cliffs, sheltered bays, and farmland. The area's character is heavily influenced by the sea, with fishing and tourism being central. The Mussenden Temple, perched on a cliff edge overlooking Downhill Strand, is a notable local landmark. Inland, the terrain rises into the Antrim plateau, featuring moorland and the glacial valleys of the Glens of Antrim to the south.
