About

Bembridge sits on the eastern tip of the Isle of Wight, centred around a small harbour and a cluster of streets that meet the coast. The shoreline here includes Bembridge Point and the rocky Bembridge Ledge, a long reef that reaches into the Solent and shapes local tides and navigation. The village contains an old windmill on higher ground and a mix of marine, farming and residential land uses. Boats launch from the harbour and lanes rise to commons and cliff-top paths that give direct access to the shore.

Nettlestone lies immediately inland and is linked to Bembridge by lanes and footpaths; the two form the Nettlestone and Seaview parish. Nettlestone has a village green, a scattering of cottages and community facilities that serve local residents rather than large-scale tourism. Short walks connect the green to the coastal tracks and to the harbour area, so daily life here mixes small-scale agriculture, sailing and village services within a compact area on the island’s east side.
