Beswick, Eastlands & Openshaw Park

Beswick, Eastlands and Openshaw Park sit to the east of Manchester city centre and form part of the city's East Manchester district. The area includes the Etihad Stadium on Ashton New Road and the Sportcity complex, which houses the National Cycling Centre, home to the Manchester Velodrome and its 250-metre indoor track, along with training facilities used by clubs and schools. Streets around the stadium mix post-war terraces, newer housing developments and pockets of light industry. Ashton Old Road runs through the neighbourhood, linking residential streets to local shops and bus routes.

Openshaw Park provides green space and sports pitches close to residential streets and former industrial sites; the park is used for local football and community events. Rail freight lines and remnants of Victorian industrial infrastructure remain visible alongside more recent developments, reflecting the area's manufacturing past.
