Blackheath Standard & Village

Blackheath Standard and Blackheath Village sit on the southern edge of the common in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The area is centred on a small commercial hub near Lee Road where shops, cafes and pubs cluster around the junction known as the Standard. On most Saturdays a farmers' market sets up on the heath near the station, and the open common provides a backdrop for informal sport, community events and long views across the grassland. The pattern of streets steps down from the heath into terraces and small mews.

The village high street contains independent retailers, bookshops and pubs, alongside everyday services such as a post office and GP surgery. All Saints' Church and the assembly rooms along the high road give a civic focus, while Blackheath station sits a short walk from the triangle of shops and provides regular trains into central London. Footpaths lead directly from the high street onto the open heath, so routine errands often end with a stretch across the common.
