Blythe

Blythe ward encompasses a primarily rural portion of East Staffordshire, situated to the east of Burton upon Trent. The area is characterised by farmland and a scattering of smaller settlements, including the villages of Draycott in the Clay and Coton in the Clay. The landscape is gently rolling, with fields delineated by hedgerows and small patches of woodland, typical of the county's countryside.

A notable feature is the presence of the ancient Blythe Heath, a remnant of heathland habitat. The ward is bisected by the upper reaches of the River Blythe, a tributary of the River Trent, which gives the area its name. The local economy has strong agricultural roots, with a mix of arable and livestock farming shaping the land and community life across its parishes.
