About

Bordon Camp sits in the town of Bordon in East Hampshire, set on stretches of lowland heath that form part of Woolmer Forest. The camp area includes former barrack blocks, parade grounds and training ranges clustered around the old garrison footprint, with open heath and acid grassland beyond. Patches of pine plantation and heathy commons shape the local pattern of fields and rides, and parts of the site are managed for habitat conservation as well as public access along clearly marked paths.

Since the military reduced its presence, large tracts of former MOD land have been repurposed under the Whitehill & Bordon regeneration programme, combining new housing, business space and community facilities with retained areas of open training ground. The route of the former Longmoor Military Railway still cuts across the landscape as a sequence of embankments and footpaths that walkers use today, linking surviving military-era structures with modern developments and the surrounding heathland.
