Broad Blunsdon, South Marston & Wanborough

Broad Blunsdon, South Marston and Wanborough lie to the east of Swindon and combine village settlement, farmland and industrial estates. South Marston has a long manufacturing history and was the site of the Honda car plant until 2021; the industrial estate north of the village now hosts a mix of engineering and logistics firms. Broad Blunsdon sits close to the A419, which provides a direct road link toward the M4, and the village pattern is a mix of 20th-century ribbon development and older farmsteads.

Wanborough retains visible traces of its earlier past: the area overlies the Romano-British settlement often referred to by archaeologists as Durocornovium, and the village church of St Andrew has medieval fabric. Local rights-of-way and lanes connect the three communities to surrounding downland and arable fields, and village halls and primary schools provide local services. The combination of historic earthworks, parish facilities and nearby transport routes shapes day-to-day life across the three parishes.
