Charlbury & North Leigh

Charlbury sits along the River Evenlode, a small Cotswold town centred on its historic railway station and market hall. The surrounding landscape is defined by ancient woodland, including the remnants of Wychwood Forest, and agricultural land. Its streets are lined with limestone buildings, and the community maintains a strong local focus with independent shops and regular events at the Cornbury Estate.

To the southeast, the parish of North Leigh encompasses scattered hamlets and farmland, leading down to the Evenlode valley. The area is notable for the substantial remains of a Roman villa, situated in a field near the village. This rural locality features the large North Leigh Common and is crossed by long-distance footpaths like the Oxfordshire Way, connecting its settlements to the wider countryside.
