Chavey Down & North Ascot West

Chavey Down and the western side of North Ascot sit inside Bracknell Forest between Bracknell town and Ascot. The area combines suburban streets with pockets of pasture and small woods; many properties back onto paddocks and there are a number of livery yards and private stables, so horses and riders are a regular sight on the public bridleways. Housing ranges from post-war suburban plots to larger detached homes set in their own grounds, and narrow lanes are often lined by hedgerows and mature trees.

Road access links the area to Bracknell town centre and to the M4 corridor via local A-roads, making commuter routes straightforward. Local residents use the network of footpaths and bridleways for walking and riding, and small green spaces and coppices provide year-round routes for short walks. Community activity is mainly residential in scale, centred on village-style streets rather than a single town centre.
