Clifton West

Clifton West sits on the southern edge of Nottingham and is primarily a residential ward formed largely by the post-war Clifton estate. Southchurch Drive runs through the heart of the area and is home to the local shopping parade, the Nottingham City Council library and the Clifton Leisure Centre. A mix of council-built terraces and later private housing lines the streets, with several primary schools and community centres serving local residents. The estate layout and street pattern reflect the 1960s–70s phase of construction that shaped much of Clifton's built form.

Public transport links include frequent bus services into the city and routes that connect to neighbouring suburbs. Open spaces and riverside paths along the Trent are close at hand on the eastern side of the ward, and there are marked recreation pitches and play areas within walking distance of the shops. Community activity often centres on the parish halls and the weekly notices at the shopping parade, where residents share information about local groups and practical services.
