Colne Waterside

Colne Waterside sits along Colne Water in the town of Colne, within the Pendle borough of Lancashire, at the western edge of the Pennine foothills. The riverside corridor links the town centre to the lower slopes, with a mix of former mill sites, terraced streets and short stretches of parkland. A riverside footpath runs beside the water and provides a walking route used by residents to reach shops, the railway station and nearby community facilities without leaving the town fabric.

Industry from the 19th and early 20th centuries still shapes the layout: linear mill plots back onto the river and a narrow mill leat can still be seen feeding former works. Stone bridges and a low weir create steady pools where local anglers come most seasons; upstream the channel narrows toward the hills and fields.
