The ward is bordered by the A325 to the west and contains the substantial Southwood Woodlands, a large area of mixed trees and heath managed for conservation. The area includes the grounds of the former Cove Green Farm, now a public park, and the Farnborough Airport runway extends into its northern boundary. The topography is generally flat, with drainage into the Cove Brook, which flows through the southern part of the ward towards the Blackwater River.
