Cranfield & Marston Moretaine

The Cranfield & Marston Moretaine ward encompasses two distinct settlements within Central Bedfordshire's rural landscape. Cranfield is dominated by Cranfield University, a major postgraduate centre for aerospace, engineering, and management, which defines much of the local economy and character. The area is largely characterised by open farmland and the presence of the Cranfield Airport airfield, used for research and pilot training.

Adjacent Marston Moretaine is a larger village with a more traditional residential core, centred around its historic church. The ward's landscape is defined by the Marston Vale, with large sections lying within the Forest of Marston Vale community forest project, which is transforming former clay pits into woodland. The Greensand Ridge geology subtly influences the area's topography and land use.
