Doveridge, Brailsford & Bradley

Doveridge, Brailsford and Bradley lie within the Derbyshire Dales district. Doveridge sits on the River Dove, which here marks the county boundary with Staffordshire. Brailsford and Bradley occupy fields and lanes on the fringe of the White Peak, with dry-stone walls, hedgerows and small woodlands. The settlements include parish churches, a village green in Brailsford, farmsteads and rows of stone houses. A network of public footpaths and bridleways links lanes, meadows and riverbanks, letting walkers move between the three villages without using main roads.

Farming remains central to the local economy, alongside a handful of shops, pubs and community halls that host village events. Historic field patterns and parish boundary stones are still visible from minor lanes; one track follows an old wall that dates to medieval field divisions. The River Dove and its flood meadows provide a continuous waterside corridor for walkers and wildlife, while the minor road network connects the area to services elsewhere in the district.
