Dunstable West

Dunstable West is a residential ward forming part of the larger Dunstable town. The area is characterised by a mix of post-war housing estates and more modern developments, providing homes for a significant portion of the town's population. Its western boundary is largely defined by the route of the A5 road, a major historical transport corridor. The ward includes local shopping parades catering to daily needs and several community primary schools serving the neighbourhood.

A notable feature within the ward is the extensive Dunstable Downs, a chalk escarpment forming part of the Chiltern Hills. This open landscape offers sweeping views over the surrounding countryside and is a popular site for walking and kite flying. The area also contains the Five Knolls, a group of Bronze Age burial mounds scheduled as an ancient monument.
