Edgmond

Edgmond ward lies in the northern part of the Telford and Wrekin borough, centred around the village of the same name. The area is largely rural, characterised by farmland, woodland, and scattered settlements. It sits on the eastern edge of the Weald Moors, a distinct area of low-lying former marshland. This brings a notable student population to the area. The village green and the parish church of St. Peter are central features. A unique local tradition involves the annual Pancake Bell, rung from the church tower on Shrove Tuesday to signal the start of the holiday for the village's schoolchildren.
