Forest Row & Coleman's Hatch

Forest Row sits on the northern edge of Ashdown Forest, with the main street leading directly onto its heathland. The village is a gateway to this large area of open public access land, characterised by pine trees, gorse, and sandy tracks. Local shops and services are concentrated along the A22 corridor, which runs through the centre.

Coleman's Hatch is a smaller, more scattered settlement nestled within the forest itself to the south. It consists largely of houses and cottages set along narrow, wooded lanes that wind through the quiet heath. The area is defined by its immediate proximity to the walking routes and bridleways that cross the high, open ridges of the forest.
