Froxfield, Sheet & Steep

Froxfield, Sheet & Steep ward encompasses a rural area of the East Hampshire district, bordering the South Downs National Park. The landscape is characterised by rolling farmland, woodland, and the small, linear settlements of Froxfield and Steep. The A3 road forms a significant transport route along its western edge. The area has a notable historical connection to the World War I poet Edward Thomas, who lived in the village of Steep.

The village of Sheet lies closer to the market town of Petersfield, which provides essential services. The geography includes the steep, hilly terrain of the Hangers, a series of wooded hills that are a distinctive local feature. Land use is primarily agricultural and residential, with a network of public footpaths crossing the fields and woods. The ward maintains a quiet, village-centred character distinct from the more urbanised areas to the north.
