About

Greenwich Peninsula West sits on the western edge of the Greenwich Peninsula, a spit of land projecting into the River Thames in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The area is anchored by North Greenwich station on the Jubilee line and North Greenwich Pier, which together link the peninsula to the rest of London by tube, river and bus. The O2 sits on the riverside here; its fabric roof is supported by twelve yellow masts, a feature visible from the river and surrounding walkways. Much of the land was industrial until recent decades and now contains a mix of housing, offices and retail around a new riverside path.

The peninsula’s western bank offers continuous access along the Thames Path and a sequence of new public squares and small parks inserted between developments. The Emirates Air Line cable car terminal is close to the O2, providing a direct aerial crossing of the river from this side. Services and infrastructure are oriented toward events at the arena and the steady growth of residential blocks, so the area combines event-driven peaks of activity with regular commuter flows.
