Helen's Bay ward encompasses the village of the same name along the coast of Belfast Lough. The area is primarily residential, characterised by Victorian and Edwardian architecture, with many properties set within mature woodland. It includes the mainline railway station providing a direct link to Belfast. The ward extends inland over gently rolling terrain, containing farmland and the grounds of the former Clandeboye Estate.
A significant portion of the ward is occupied by Crawfordsburn Country Park, which features two sheltered beaches, ancient woodland, and glens. The park's network of paths connects to the North Down Coastal Path. The area is also home to Grey Point Fort, a well-preserved early 20th-century coastal battery. Helen's Bay itself is a small, curved sandy beach popular for walking and swimming.
