Holmwoods & Beare Green

Holmwoods & Beare Green is a primarily residential ward situated in the northern part of the Mole Valley district. It encompasses the villages of North Holmwood, South Holmwood, and Beare Green, along with surrounding rural land. The area is characterised by a mix of housing developments and older properties, set within the wooded landscape typical of this part of Surrey. Local infrastructure includes several schools, shops, and community facilities serving the resident population.

The ward is bordered by the A24 road, a major transport route, and includes areas of the Greensand Hills. A notable local feature is the former Betchworth Quarry, a large, now-inactive chalk pit that is a significant geological site. Much of the surrounding area consists of farmland and woodland, including parts of the Hurtwood. The settlement pattern is dispersed, with the communities maintaining distinct identities while sharing common services and governance.
