Hythe ward covers the coastal town of Hythe, situated along the Royal Military Canal. This historic waterway defines much of the area's northern boundary and provides a distinct linear parkland setting. The town centre is focused around the High Street, with residential streets extending towards the seafront and the slopes of the North Downs.

The area includes the Martello towers and the expansive shingle beach of Hythe Bay. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway originates here, offering a narrow-gauge service along the coast. Residential development varies from Victorian terraces near the canal to post-war housing estates further inland, with the military ranges at Lympne forming part of the ward's western edge.
