Ivybridge East

Ivybridge East ward encompasses the eastern half of the town of Ivybridge, situated on the southern fringes of Dartmoor National Park. The area is primarily residential, with a mix of housing developments from different eras. The ward is defined by the River Erme, which flows through its centre, and the presence of the A38 Devon Expressway, a major transport route that runs along its western boundary. This creates a distinct separation from the town's western side.

The landscape is characterised by the steep, wooded slopes of the Dartmoor foothills rising immediately to the north. A key local feature is the presence of the old Ivybridge railway viaduct, a prominent stone structure that now carries a walking and cycling trail. The ward includes local amenities such as schools and community facilities, serving its resident population. The proximity to the moorland provides direct access to open countryside and walking routes along the river valley.
