Kemsing

Kemsing ward lies on the northern slopes of the North Downs, forming a distinct part of the Sevenoaks district. The settlement pattern is primarily linear, following the historic route of the Pilgrims' Way along the spring line. Land use is a mix of residential areas, agricultural fields, and areas of woodland, with the village centre containing local shops and services. The ward's geography creates a clear separation from the main urban area of Sevenoaks town.

The parish church of St Mary the Virgin dates to the 12th century and is a focal point. A local landmark is the Kemsing Down Millennium Stone, a large sarsen stone erected in 2000. The area is a starting point for walks onto the National Trust-owned Toys Hill and through the surrounding downland landscape. Public transport connections, including a railway station on the Southeastern line, provide links to London and the Kent coast.
