Kersal & Broughton Park

Kersal & Broughton Park is a residential ward in northeast Salford, characterised by suburban housing and green corridors. The area is defined by the meandering path of the River Irwell, which forms its eastern boundary with Prestwich. Housing is predominantly Victorian and Edwardian terraces, alongside larger inter-war semis and modern apartment developments, creating a varied streetscape. Kersal Moor, an area of historic heathland, provides elevated, open views across Manchester.

The ward includes the distinct neighbourhood of Broughton Park, known for its Jewish community and associated institutions. Local life centres on several primary schools, places of worship, and shops along Great Cheetham Street. The recreational route of the Irwell Sculpture Trail passes through the riverside Kersal Dale country park. The area is also home to the floodlit pitches and grandstand of Moor Lane, a non-league football ground.
