Laverstock

Laverstock ward encompasses a mix of residential suburbs and open countryside on the eastern fringes of Salisbury. The area is primarily composed of housing estates, local shops, and schools, serving as a commuter base for the city. It includes the distinct villages of Laverstock and Ford within its boundaries, which retain their own historic character amidst the modern development.

The terrain is defined by the River Bourne, which flows through the ward, and the open chalk downland to the east. A notable local feature is Old Sarum, the historic site of the original Salisbury settlement, whose ancient earthworks stand prominently on the landscape. Agricultural land and golf courses occupy significant portions of the area, contrasting with the built-up neighbourhoods.
