Leighton Buzzard North & East

Leighton Buzzard North & East sits on the eastern edge of the town within Central Bedfordshire. The area mixes older terraces and later housing with a number of primary schools, small shopping parades and community centres that serve local neighbourhoods. The River Ouzel runs through this part of town and the Grand Union Canal towpath provides a continuous walking and cycling route, linking green spaces, allotments and playing fields that lie between residential streets and the town centre.

On the eastern side you can see vestiges of the town’s industrial past where sand extraction shaped local land use; narrow-gauge workings once ran from pit heads to loading points and a preserved section of the Leighton Buzzard Light Railway records that history. Local clubs, parish halls and sports pitches remain focal points for residents, while short connections to the canal and riverside give direct access to waterside paths and the town’s market and services a short walk away.
