Maryport North

Maryport North ward is situated on the western edge of the town of Maryport, bordering the Solway Firth. The area contains a mix of residential housing, primarily terraced and semi-detached homes, alongside light industrial and commercial units near the harbour. The ward's landscape is largely flat, with the River Ellen flowing through it before reaching the sea. Its western boundary is defined by the coastline, offering views across the water.

The ward includes the historic Maryport harbour and the remains of the Senhouse Roman Museum and Roman fort, which sit on a coastal promontory. Economic activity has traditionally been linked to the port and maritime industries, though these have declined. The area functions as a local residential and employment hub, with a network of local shops and services catering to the community.
