About

Murston is a residential ward located in the northern part of the borough of Swale. The area is characterised by a mix of post-war housing estates and older terraced homes, with local amenities centred along the main roads. Industrial and commercial units are present on its eastern side, near the railway line and Sittingbourne station. The ward is bounded by Milton Creek to the west, a tidal inlet that historically supported a brickmaking industry.

The landscape includes areas of reclaimed marshland. Murston Country Park, a large green space created on a former landfill site, provides walking paths and wildlife habitats. The ward is primarily a commuter area for Sittingbourne, with good road links via the A249. The Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway, a heritage narrow-gauge line, runs through the southern edge of the area.
