Newport Pagnell South

Newport Pagnell South covers the southern part of the town of Newport Pagnell and includes the town centre, residential streets and stretches of the River Ouzel. The High Street remains the local shopping spine with independent shops, cafés and civic buildings clustered around the parish church of St Peter and St Paul. A cast-iron road bridge at Tickford crosses the river close to the centre; the bridge is a visible link to the town’s early 19th-century engineering history and sits beside the lane that once led to local mills. The area also carries a long association with car manufacture, with the former Aston Martin works nearby shaping local employment and skills for much of the 20th century.

Road links run from the south of the ward toward the A509 and out to the M1, while buses connect the town with Milton Keynes and surrounding villages. Local provision includes primary and secondary schools, community sports pitches and stretches of riverside open space used for walking and cycling. The redway network and footpaths give direct routes through the town rather than routing traffic onto main roads.
