About

Park ward covers a largely residential portion of the town of Carrickfergus, situated along the northern shoreline of Belfast Lough. The area is characterised by rows of terraced housing and modern estates, with local commercial activity centred along the North Road. The ward's eastern boundary is defined by the expanse of Carrickfergus Marina, a hub for boating activity that directly opens onto the lough's waters.

Inland, the terrain rises towards the prominent landmark of Knockagh Monument, a war memorial on the hilltop that provides views across the lough. The ward contains several playing fields and green spaces, including Carrickfergus Rugby Club's grounds. The residential streets are quiet, with the main through traffic funnelled along the A2 road, which skirts the ward's edge.
