Pier

Pier ward encompasses the coastal town centre of Walton-on-the-Naze, directly surrounding the historic pier and its adjacent greenspace, the Naze. The area is characterised by a mix of independent shops, cafes, and seafront accommodations lining the main streets. The topography slopes gently from the High Street down to the waterfront, where beach huts line the promenade.

The ward is defined by the Naze itself, a prominent headland of eroding red crag and London clay that provides a stark natural contrast to the built-up seafront. This open space of grassland and scrub is crisscrossed by walking paths, separating the central town from the more residential northern areas. The pier, a functional structure for angling and leisure, extends into the estuary waters.
